Star anise ground

Star anise has a similar flavour profile to that of fennel or licorice. It is well known in Chinese 5 spice and in some Indian “Garam masala” blends. Star anise can be boiled into a soothing tea according to Chinese folk medicine. It is also used in sweet dishes, fruit pies, quick bread and muffins.
