Annatto seeds

Galloway’s annatto powder can be described as earthy, musky, and a slightly peppery flavour. Some may detect a sweet, floral hint of nutmeg. The tree is best known as the source of annatto, a natural orange-red condiment (also called achiote ) obtained from the waxy arils that cover its seeds.
