Organic steel cut oats

Steel cut oats also known as Irish oatmeal are whole oats which have been sliced crossways with steel blades. The whole oats are chopped into two or three pinhead pieces and used in oatmeal. It takes longer to cook steel cut oats but are nuttier and chewier then other types of oats. Hot cereal, oat cakes, muffins, cookies, breakfast bars are some delicious ways to use steel cut oats.

Whole grains are best stored in an airtight container in a cool place. They can be stored up to a year in the freezer or 6 months in the pantry. Whole grain flour is best stored in the freezer. If the grains or flour have a rancid smell, it’s best to buy a fresh batch.
